How to Prepare for a SiftSuite AI Interview

May 19, 2026

If you've received a SiftSuite screening invitation, you might be wondering what to expect. SiftSuite is an AI-powered interview screening platform used by hiring teams to evaluate candidates through voice-based interviews — no Zoom calls, no scheduling coordination, just you and a set of tailored questions you can answer whenever it suits you.

Here's everything you need to know to walk in confident.

What Is SiftSuite?

SiftSuite lets employers conduct asynchronous voice screening interviews at scale. Instead of scheduling a phone screen with a recruiter, you receive a private link and complete the interview on your own time — on your phone or laptop, in a quiet space, whenever you're ready.

The AI listens to your spoken answers, transcribes them, and scores each one across five dimensions. The hiring team then reviews your ranked results alongside other candidates.

What the Voice Interview Process Looks Like

When you open your SiftSuite invite link, you'll go through three stages:

1. Mic check. Before you start, the platform runs a quick microphone test to make sure your audio is coming through clearly. Speak a few words, confirm the input looks active, and continue. Use a headset or earbuds if you have them — they reduce background noise significantly.

2. Prepare phase (30 seconds). Each question comes with a 30-second reading window before your answer window opens. Use this time to gather your thoughts, recall a specific example, and plan your structure. You won't be penalized for pausing — the recording hasn't started yet.

3. Answer window (90 seconds). Once you click "Start Recording," you have 90 seconds to give your answer. The timer is visible on screen. Aim to use 60–80 seconds: enough to cover your point fully without padding. Speak clearly, at a natural pace. If you finish early, click "Stop Recording" — you don't have to wait for the timer.

How AI Scoring Works

SiftSuite's scoring engine evaluates each answer across five dimensions:

  • Relevance — Did your answer actually address the question asked?
  • Specificity — Did you use concrete examples, numbers, or details rather than generalizations?
  • Clarity — Was your answer easy to follow? Good structure and clear language score well here.
  • Originality — Did you bring a genuine perspective, or give a generic answer that could apply to anyone?
  • Experience Depth — Did your answer reflect real, lived professional experience?

Each dimension is scored from 1–10, and a composite score is calculated. The hiring team sees a radar chart of your profile alongside your full transcript.

Tips for Your Best Performance

  • Find a quiet room. Background noise affects transcription accuracy, which affects your scores.
  • Answer like you're talking to a smart colleague, not reciting a script. Originality and Clarity reward genuine, conversational answers.
  • Use the STAR method. Situation, Task, Action, Result gives you a built-in structure that covers Specificity and Experience Depth naturally.
  • Don't rush. A clear 60-second answer beats a rambling 90-second one.
  • You only get one attempt, so read the question carefully during your prep phase before you start recording.
